The Wahroonga/Warrawee area is well known for its beautiful streets and houses. After the North Shore railway line was opened in 1890 it became a popular place for wealthy businessmen to build out of town residences with large gardens. Today, Wahroonga/Warrawee is a largely residential area with a few commercial pockets, and covers a total of 11 square kilometres. The population sits at around 16, 715 in Wahroonga and 2, 912 in Warrawee. Wahroonga and Warrawee are 22 km and 21 km north-west of the CBD respectively.
Transport
Both Wahroonga and Warrawee railway stations are on the North Shore, Northern and Western Line of the Sydney Trains Network and are only a kilometre apart. Wahroonga is at the Sydney end of the F3 Freeway to Newcastle. Buses depart from both Warrawee and Wahroonga Stations to Chatswood on the 575 and 545 routes and to the city via the 575, 545, 621 and 292 routes.
Facilities (Shops, Parks, Restaurants)
Wahroonga is serviced by the Wahroonga shopping village and Hampden Avenue shopping centre in East Wahroonga. The Wahroonga/Warrawee area boasts a number of restaurants including Japanese, Indian and Thai cuisines. The beautiful Wahroonga Park is a popular area for leisure activities and includes a large playground. Across the street is the well-known Coonanbarra café. Another Wahroonga park, The Glade, offers sporting grounds for tennis, football, cricket, basketball and more. Wahroonga is also home to the Sydney Adventist Hospital.

The Wahroonga/Warrawee area is popular for its excellent schools including -

In regards to preschool and childcare, Wahroonga is represented by KU in both Wahroonga and Fox Valley as well as Peter Rabbit Community Preschool and Next Generation Childcare.
